Oral Pathology is a clinical specialty, undertaken by laboratory-based dentists that focuses on the diagnosis and assessment of diseases or the oral and maxillofacial region (mouth and mouth related issues).

The mouth is said to be one of the body’s best early warning systems when it comes to diseases, abnormalities or injury.  Your pathologist can diagnose and treat all of the various issues related to the teeth, gums, lips, mucosa, perioral skin, tongue, salivary glands, jaws or facial muscles, and adjacent areas of the head and neck.

By catching oral problems that are developing early, oral pathologists make treatment as effective and simple as possible to prevent the oral disease from impacting other areas of the body.
